Bridging acute care nursing & aesthetic practice with Bravura’s expert-led laser training
I get it acute care nursing can be exhausting and after a while, you're looking for a change. I can remember moving into cosmetic nursing and feeling so completely overwhelmed because it was a brand-new scope of practice, with many new things to learn. Finding high-quality information needed as a registered health professional was almost impossible. That's why I created Bravura Education. We make the transition into cosmetic nursing as smooth, cost-effective and efficient as possible. You know this too, to protect yourself as a registered health professional, you must be providing evidence-based care and be adequately educated and skilled to perform treatments and give advice.
Whilst nurses have vast experience with skin car in a hospital setting, moving into cosmetics and aesthetics is a whole different ball game. Firstly, we need to remind ourselves about the anatomy and physiology of skin which is essential to know what we are targeting and why. This is where our Skin Anatomy and Physiology Course comes in. This course is benchmarked against the similar TAFE course and does a deep-dive into how the skin works. It is the perfect consideration to start the transition into cosmetic and aesthetic nurse nursing.
The second must have course is the Laser Safety Online Course because it makes you highly employable and without it, it's impossible to get insurance. This course covers the science of light, how machinery works, the regulations around lasers in Australia, and the specific safety measures that need to be put in place to ensure that we meet our workplace health and safety obligations. This is also the course that if you are working in Queensland, WA, or Tasmania is used to apply for your user license so you can legally fire a laser. This is a non-negotiable for anyone firing a laser and complies with the Australian and New Zealand Standards.
The third course to pave the way for a career switch is the Advanced Cosmetic Laser Course which takes a deep dive into all of the types of treatments you will do with energy-based lasers and intense pulsed light. This includes laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, skin resurfacing and skin rejuvenation, scar treatments, removal of capillaries and leg veins, laser removal of pigmentation and photodynamic therapy (PDT).
No only does Advanced Cosmetic Laser Course cover all of these but it is packed with extra information on how to be a safe and confident practitioner. Loads of information is included on how to prevent burns and manage complaints, doing test patches, spotting potential skin cancers, pain management, planning treatment regimens and more.
Do these three courses sound like what you need to get started?
