This comprehensive laser safety training is designed to arm you with all the knowledge you need to understand how lasers and intense pulsed light (IPL) devices work, how to implement laser safety standards and policies in your specific workplace, and to ensure laser safety compliance in various settings.
It is the foundational knowledge you need before you fire a laser or IPL regardless of where you work, for when you need a User Licence (Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania only) and for your insurance policy and peace of mind.

  • Fitzpatrick Skin Types and test patch procedures
  • Use of lasers in cosmetic medicine and dermal therapies
  • Safety, risk assessment and policy implementation

Whether you plan to do laser tattoo removal, laser hair removal or improving skin that has pigmentation, redness or scarring, this course will give you the confidence and the foundational certification to get started.

Who is it for

The certified Laser Safety Officer course is perfect for anyone who is interested in starting a career using lasers for hair removal, tattoo removal or skin treatments like pigmentation, redness and rosacea, rejuvenation and resurfacing. It's suited for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of laser safety and apply these skills in their work environment.
There are no prerequisites for this course, however, knowledge about skin anatomy and physiology is an advantage.

Industry Accreditation and CPD Points

This course is benchmarked against international (IEC 60825-1: 2014 Safety of laser products - Part 1: Equipment classification and requirements) and Australia/New Zealand (AS/NZS 4173: 2018 Safe use of lasers and intense light sources in health care) laser safety standards.

This course is endorsed for the application for a laser user’s licence in Queensland (ED - 256), Western Australia and Tasmania.

This course has been reviewed by the Aesthetics Practitioners Advisory Network Pty Ltd (APAN) and has been awarded the relevant CPD Points.
